Smile Campaign TV Advert Final Edit and Further Post Production

Following the evaluation of my first draft for my Smile Campaign, I gathered (from the opinions that I collected using a survey that was completed by my peers who are part of the target audience) that certain aspects of my video needed to be changed. These improvements included, making my video shorter (as my video lasted around 2 and a half minutes) and adding text transitions to make my video more smooth and professional. Both of these things I did, I realised that there were clips that weren't fully necessary to the journey of the video that took up little screen time and therefore weren't really needed, therefore I got rid of them and the video still made sense. Without certain clips in this video, it still showed my characters day, how they wake up not feeling or looking great but push themselves to get up and get ready, with music helping them push themselves. On top of this I added text transitions, as I had only used premier pro once before and that was for my first draft of the video, I didn't know how to do this but researched how and taught myself. Another aspect of my video that I decided to improve was the text as I realised that the text that I originally chose didn't really match or fit in well with the video and looked a little odd, therefore I changed it to a font that was more casual and match the "Mind" font more.

Firstly I clicked on the "effects" tab at the top of the screen then a box will appear on the right hand side of the screen. To create the transition for the text, I clicked on the text that I wanted to create a transition for, then on the effects I clicked, "video transitions", "3D motion" and "dissolve". This then showed me a range of different transitions that I could use for my text. I chose the "cross dissolve" transition for all of my texts and for the mind logo. By them all having the same transition, my video looks more smooth and better together, as if I had different transitions for each, it would probably make my video look messy, unorganised and unplanned.

I clicked and held on the transition I want and I dragged it onto the text that I wanted to transition. I repeated this for another piece of text and for the mind logo. You can also drag the transition along to make it slower or drag it back to make it faster.

Overall, I am happy with my progress and my video after my further editing and I found the evaluation and feedback from my audience very useful. Because I already had research from my previous surveys I found out what my target audience enjoyed and what brightened their mood, therefore I knew the music aspect of my video would be useful as (from what my survey showed) it would encourage my target audience to continue watching, as well as showing a character that matches the target audiences age and showing their mornign routine and how a morning can affect their day.
